Wow, it's been a month exactly! It's been hard to get away, which has really sucked. I was hoping to come home for the holidays, and really spend some time surfing with my family.
As it was, I could only get back to the past for a few minutes on New Years Day, to give Soph-mom a hug - it seemed she needed it so bad, I wasn't going to let stuff like time and space get in the way.
Anyway, though, big news! I got my own legitimate account in this time! I'm officially Ciel Chesnokov, registered Resident of Second Life in 2008! Even better, almost all my stuff transfered: that formal gown and shoes, my surfboard, and almost all my clothes. I'm really hoping to achieve greater temporal alignment this year, and spend some real time in the past. My moms have put me in charge of surfing in Extropia, and I'm going to do a good job for them! Now, to talk Aunt Vids into getting the Core dense enough for a parkour run....
I didn't get time to surf, but did make it down to the beach at Chi before temporal forces pulled me back. Next time!
And, after a few minutes on a rental surfboard, I was in love! I got a pro board, and what a difference! Faster, smoother - even my first time out I had some *really* good runs - though I smacked into the cliff a *lot* trying to stay in the pipe and take pictures at the same time!
I finally wiped out badly enough to call it a day, and went shopping for some basic athletic gear - which turned out to be next to impossible. Don't women in your time wear athletic shoes? But then, one of my moms wears combat boots (sorry, "civilian hiking shoes" - Argent Bury is *not* on active black ops duty! *nods*) and the other wears lethal heels....
I did find a parkour shop, though! Too bad the shirt and sweats I ended up with weren't what the signs said, and the HUD won't display - at least the waves in the past work!
I finished the night chilling in my new room - thanks mom! Um, walls and a door sometime, maybe? Oh, and uh, if you could keep the creepy neighbors away, that wouldn't hurt either, k?
Moms, Aunt Gala - could we *please* get surfing waves for Extropia? I don't know if you have room yet, but when you do, I'd *love* to surf at home...
I made it to Argent-mom's half-rezday party. I wasn't able to stay, which was really disappointing, but my chronoton radiation output was playing havok with Soph-mom's systems. I took off - my moms needed to dance together more than I needed to meet their friends. There'll be lots of other chances around the Core.
I didn't get any photos - I figued the extra electronic activity might bring *everything* down. But, mom got a couple photos of me while we were getting ready. And I know, if I don't post them, she will - and with *really* embarrassing captions.
So here's my first foray into finding my own style - what do you think?
Well, I *had* a plan!
I was able to get out and make the time jump, though it was kinda late. I figured it'd be past my moms' bedtime, so I could take some me-time and explore the world a bit.
It so didn't work.
The plan was, I'd buy a wetsuit and a surfboard, and go surfing. Argent-mom loves the beach, and Soph-mom used to surf when she was young, and the whole "oceans" thing has always kind of fascinated me. Comes from growing up in a country with gay dolphins on its flag, I guess!
So I went to Namiko Surf Shop, 'cause they take their responsibilities to the oceans really seriously, which I like to see. I paid for a wetsuit, and went off to find a beach.... and discovered I never got my wetsuit. So, like a total noob, I went back and bought *another* - and didn't get that either. Since I'm on an allowance from mom, I felt really horrible about that!
I figured I'd at least go for a walk on the beach, check out where the good waves are, and come back another time. So I TP'd to Venice Beach (it isn't in Venice - what's up with that??). And I'd barely rezzed before some guy walked into me, then started talking at me in some abbreviated language, very strange. He asked if I was from there, and I said no. When he asked where I was from, I proudly told him Extropia Core! That seemed to confuse him, though - he asked if it was "in RL," and I told him no, it was in Extropia. He said, "Im from here -LA," which I sorta figured was a sentence, though I had no idea what it meant.
Confused, lost (LA? Venice? Beach? What?), out 900 of these "Lindens" which I know are real important, and mom doesn't have that many to spare - I just gave up, tp'd back to Sophtropia, petted Murasaki a bit, and slipstreamed back uptime.
My first big solo adventure, huh?
Teen supergenius from the future pffft, as Soph-mom would say. Lost money, *got* lost, got nowhere. I thought things were supposed to be *simpler* in the past!
I'll try again - I didn't get raised to give up! But it's a lot harder than I ever thought it'd be, back there...

The first time I made it back from school to see Soph-mom (
With the Extropian power core online, getting back got a *lot* easier! I zapped down onto the old Nexus's ramp last night, got my bearings and headed off for my moms' places. I'd just curled up in this really cozy spot at the base of Argent-mom's (
So we hung out a bit, and I got to meet her friend dandellion, and then Soph-mom came up, and we all got so gooshy dandellion took off, but it was really good to be there, so I can't be *that* sorry!
I didn't grab any vids - still getting used to this old tech - I'll do better next time!
I'm gonna have a room all to my own to decorate in Soph's house! It'll be weird doing a place in antiques- it seems like such a granny idea - but Aunt Gala says I'm strictly limited to pre-Singularity stuff here, so.... Beethoven concert holos? Ceremonial moon-landing stone axes? What do I *do*???
Soph-mom bought me some "conservative clothes" - not one shred of which shows less than a square meter of skin, not even the big comfy sweater! Aaagh! I feel like a yutz keeping my school track suit on, but at least it's well, umyeah.....
k, that's about all I got for now. Hopefully I can sneak out some night this week and
